Operating Instruction

The SC 510L has a 10 litre container installed

underneath for accepting shredded paper.

Safet Instructions:

1. Read all instructions thoroughly before using

the machine.

2. Place the cable in such a way that no one will

trip over it.

3. Never open the housing of the shredder.

4. Do not operate the device if it is wet.

5. Switch off the device when not in use and

remove the plug from the socket.

6. Stop using the machine if there is damage to

the cable, housing or holder.

Installation:

1. Remove all packaging materials from the device.

2. Place the shredder on a stable, even surface.

3. Connect the power cable to a 220-240 V~

outlet.

4. Set the switch to „AUTO“. If the green light

does not go on after this, the paper basket

may not have been inserted properly. Pull the

basket out and slide it into the housing fully.

Operation Modes:

Using the switch on the device, select one of the

following modes.

AUTO – On this setting, the shredder switches itself on

automatically as soon as you insert paper into the paper

feeder and switches itself off automatically when there

is no more paper.

FWD – On this setting, the forward function can

be set to continuous. This makes the shredder run

continuously instead of stopping after every sheet.

REV – In the unlikely case of paper being trapped in the

cutter, the reverse function allows you to remove the

blockage.

Slitting Capacity:

The SC 510L can shred up to 5 sheets of

70 g/m² paper with a maximum width of 228 mm at the

same time.

A folded sheet of paper is the equivalent of two sheets!

Warning:

1. Make sure you do not insert objects such as

clothes, ties, jewellery or hair into the paper feeder.

2. Set the switch to OFF if the shredder is not to

be used for a longer period of time.

3. Remove any paper clips and staples from the paper

before shredding. The shredder will not break if you

forget to do this once.

However, you should normally avoid this.

4. Keep hands and ﬁ ngers away from the underside of

the shredder during operation and especially from

the cutting rollers, as this can cause serious injury.

5. Do not exceed more than 20 shredding procedures

at a time. If you happen to have large quantity of

paper to shred, we recommand that you switch off

the shredder and wait about 20 minutes before

switching the shredder back on.

6. The socket you use should be close to the shredder

and easily accessible.

7. Always switch the shredder off (or remove the

mains plug) before moving or cleaning the shredder

or emptying the paper basket.

8. Empty the paper basket regularly.

Paper Blockage and overload protection:

If there is paper blockage (e.g. from too many inserted

sheets), proceed as follows:

1. Remove the plug from the socket and remove

all remaining paper from the shredder or cut

it off appropriately.

2. Then connect the machine to the mains again

and set the switch to REV. Using the reverse

function, pull the paper trapped in the cutting

rollers out of the top of the shredder. You can

then set the switch back to AUTO or FWD.

3. If the switch is set to „AUTO“ or „FWD“ and

the paper feeder is clear, the shredder is now

ready to use again.

En cas d'utilisation occasionnelle, il suffit de huiler le destructeur de papier une fois tous les deux mois. Avec une utilisation (très) régulière, vous remarquerez peut-être que la machine a des difficultés à déchiqueter ou que le papier se coince facilement. Ce sont des signes que la machine doit être huilée.
