Intended use
This product is intended to be used to measure the core temperature of food
such as fish, beef, pork, poultry, burgers and other meats. All modifications to
this product are not intended and may cause considerable risk of accident. The
manufacturer assumes no liability for damages caused because of non-intended
usage. The product is not intended for commercial use.
Scope of delivery
After unpacking the product, check if the delivery is complete and if all parts
are in good condition. Remove all packaging materials before use.
Please contact the customer service if parts are missing or damaged.

TODDLERS AND CHILDREN! Never allow children to play
unsupervised with the packaging material. There is a danger
of suffocation from the packaging material. Children frequently
underestimate the dangers. Children should be kept away from the
product at all times.

WARNING! DANGER TO LIFE! Batteries, the battery cover, the probe
cover or small parts can be swallowed, which may represent a danger
to life. If a battery, battery cover, probe cover or small parts have been
swallowed, medical help is required immediately.
This product can be used by children aged from 8years and above and
persons with reduced physical, sensory or mental capabilities or lack
of experience and knowledge if they have been given supervision or
instruction concerning use of the product in a safe way and understand the
hazards involved. Children shall not play with the product. Cleaning and
user maintenance shall not be made by children without supervision.
Do not use the product if it is damaged.
Do not expose the product to
– extreme temperatures,
– strong vibrations,
– strong mechanical stresses,
– direct sunlight,
– moisture.
Otherwise the product may be damaged.
Please note that the guarantee does not cover damage caused by incorrect
handling, non-compliance with the operating instructions or interference
with the product by unauthorised individuals.
The product does not contain any parts that require maintenance.
Under no circumstances should you take the product apart. Improper
repairs may place the user in considerable danger. Repairs should only be
carried out by specialist personnel.
Keep the product clean.
FOOD SAFE! This product does not affect the taste and aroma
properties of foodstuffs.
NOTE: The probe[1] is food safe only. Never get the casing of the
product in contact with foods or liquids.
The consumption of food of animal origin which is not completely cooked
through can be harmful to health. This is a particular risk for small children,
pregnant women and people with a weakened immune system.
No foreign bodies must penetrate the interior of the product.
WARNING! RISK OF BURNS! This product can be hot during and
after use.
Always make sure no other persons, children or animals burn
themselves on the product.
Use protection or oven gloves if you touch the product during or
after use.
Improper use of the product can cause injuries.

and its accessories away from open fires.
Never use the product in a microwave, oven or dishwasher.
The casing of the product is not heat-resistant.
The product is only designed for short-term temperature measurement. It
must never be left inside the food for extended periods.
Do not leave the product exposed to extreme high or low temperatures.
This could damage electronic parts and plastics.
WARNING! KEEP OUT OF REACH OF CHIILDREN!
Swallowing can lead to chemical burns, perforation of soft tissue,
and death. Severe burns can occur within 2 hours of ingestion. Seek
medical attention immediately.

rechargeable batteries

DANGER TO LIFE! Keep batteries/rechargeable batteries out of reach of
children. If accidentally swallowed seek immediate medical attention.
Swallowing may lead to burns, perforation of soft tissue, and death. Severe
burns can occur within 2hours of ingestion.
DANGER OF EXPLOSION! Never recharge non-rechargeable
batteries. Do not short-circuit batteries/rechargeable batteries and/
or open them. Overheating, fire or bursting can be the result.
Never throw batteries/rechargeable batteries into fire or water.
Do not exert mechanical loads to batteries/rechargeable batteries.
Risk of leakage of batteries/rechargeable batteries
Avoid extreme environmental conditions and temperatures, which could
affect batteries/rechargeable batteries, e.g. radiators/direct sunlight.
If batteries/rechargeable batteries have leaked, avoid contact with skin,
eyes and mucous membranes with the chemicals! Flush immediately the
affected areas with fresh water and seek medical attention!
WEAR PROTECTIVE GLOVES! Leaked or damaged batteries/
rechargeable batteries can cause burns on contact with the skin.
Wear suitable protective gloves at all times if such an event occurs.
In the event of a leakage of batteries/rechargeable batteries, immediately
remove them from the product to prevent damage.
Remove batteries/rechargeable batteries if the product will not be used for
a longer period.
Risk of damage of the product
Only use the specified type of battery/rechargeable battery!
Insert batteries/rechargeable batteries according to polarity marks (+) and
(–) on the battery/rechargeable battery and the product.
Do not use rechargeable batteries.
Use a dry lint-free cloth or cotton swab to clean the contacts on the
battery/rechargeable battery before inserting!
Remove exhausted batteries/rechargeable batteries from the product
immediately.
You can remove leaked battery fluids with a dry, absorbent cloth.
The supply terminals are not to be short-circuited.
Before first use
o Remove the packing materials.
o Check the product for any damages.
o Remove the probe cover before use. The probe cover is not part of the
product and has to be disposed of.
o Clean the product (see “Cleaning and care”).
Inserting/replacing the batteries
o Use a tool (e.g. a coin) to rotate the battery cover counterclockwise.
o Remove the battery cover from the product.
o Insert 1x 3.0V type CR2032 battery into the battery compartment[6]
according to polarity marks (+) and (–) on the battery and the product.
o Put the battery cover onto the battery compartment. Use a tool (e.g. a coin)
to rotate the battery cover clockwise.
o Make sure that the cover of the battery compartment is firmly in place.
Operation

WARNING! RISK OF SCALDS! Do not touch the probe of the product
during or right after measuring temperatures since it is hot.

ATTENTION! RISK OF PRODUCT DAMAGE! Never immerse the
handle of the product in liquid.
o Clean the probe[1] as described in the cleaning section before each use.
o Press the /°C/°Fbutton[4] to switch on the product.
o Press the /°C/°Fbutton again to select the temperature unit:
°C or °F. The temperature unit is shown on the display[5].
NOTE: The temperature unit remains the last selection when you switch on
the product next time.
o Press the button[3] to switch on the light.
o Insert the probe [1] into food that is being cooked. The product starts to
measure the internal food temperature.
o Wait until the temperature reading stabilizes on the display.
o Press the button [2] to hold the temperature reading. is shown on the
display for approx. 15 seconds.
o Press the button [3] to switch on/off the light during temperature hold
mode if necessary.
o Press /°C/°F button [4] to change the temperature unit during
temperature hold mode if necessary.
o Press the button again to release the display.
o Press the /°C/°Fbutton for 4 seconds to switch off the product.
o If no movement is detected or no button is pressed for 10 minutes, the
product switches off automatically.
NOTES:
When measuring multiple or different foods and meats, rinse the probe[1]
with cold water between readings to cool the probe.
When taking readings from different foods and meats, wipe the probe
clean between readings.
The product is designed for temporary, hand held use. Do not use the
product in ovens. Never insert the product in extremely hot foods or liquids
with temperatures over +300°C/+572°F.
Always take your reading in the thickest available portion of meat. Thin
portions of meat are difficult to measure because they tend to cook through
fast. Avoid touching bone. If the probe touches the bone or heavy fat area
of the meat, or if the probe is not deep enough, take a second reading to
ensure accuracy.
Cleaning and care

WARNING! RISK OF INJURY! Switch off the product before cleaning
the product.

ATTENTION! RISK OF PRODUCT DAMAGE! Do not use any
aggressive cleaning liquids or solvents. These can damage the surface of
the main unit. Do not immerse the main unit in water or other liquids. Never
hold the product under running water.
Clean the main unit:
o Wipe the handle of the product with a damp cloth. If necessary, use a little
cleaning liquid.
o Let the product dry completely after cleaning.
Clean the probe:
o Always clean the probe[1] after every use to avoid persistent deposits.
o Wipe the probe with a damp soapy cloth or sponge.
o Let the probe dry completely after cleaning.
Storage
o Clean the product (see “Cleaning and care”).
o Remove the battery from the battery compartment[6].
o Store the product in a clean and dry location.
Disposal
The packaging is made entirely of recyclable materials, which you may dispose
of at local recycling facilities.
Observe the marking of the packaging materials for waste
separation, which are marked with abbreviations (a) and numbers
(b) with following meaning: 1–7: plastics/20–22: paper and
fibreboard/80–98: composite materials.
Product:
The product and packaging materials are recyclable and are subject to
extended producer responsibility.
Dispose them separately, following the illustrated Info-tri (sorting information),
for better waste treatment.
The Triman logo is valid in France only.
Contact your local refuse disposal authority for more details of how to
dispose of your worn-out product.
To help protect the environment, please dispose of the product
properly when it has reached the end of its useful life and not in the
household waste. Information on collection points and their opening
hours can be obtained from your local authority.
Faulty or used batteries/rechargeable batteries must be recycled in accordance
with Directive 2006/66/EC and its amendments. Please return the batteries/
rechargeable batteries and/or the product to the available collection points.
Environmental damage through incorrect disposal of the
batteries/rechargeable batteries!
Batteries/rechargeable batteries may not be disposed of with the usual
domestic waste. They may contain toxic heavy metals and are subject to
hazardous waste treatment rules and regulations. The chemical symbols for
heavy metals are as follows: Cd = cadmium, Hg = mercury, Pb = lead. That
is why you should dispose of used batteries/rechargeable batteries at a local
collection point.
Warranty
The product has been manufactured to strict quality guidelines and meticulously
examined before delivery. In the event of material or manufacturing defects you
have legal rights against the retailer of this product. Your legal rights are not
limited in any way by our warranty detailed below.
The warranty for this product is 3 years from the date of purchase. The warranty
period begins on the date of purchase. Keep the original sales receipt in a safe
location as this document is required as proof of purchase.
Any damage or defects already present at the time of purchase must be
reported without delay after unpacking the product.
