3. Do not install carbon monoxide alarms close to fans, windows, etc which could

draw CO away from the alarm.

4. Do not install in high humid environments such as bathrooms, or in areas

where dust or dirt could easily build up and clog the sensor.

5. Do not install near ceiling decorations which could impede the diﬀusion of CO,

or in places where the detector can easily be touched, damaged or removed.

Installation

This CO alarm is powered by batteries and requires no additional wiring. It can be

installed either on the wall using the ﬁxings provided or on a tabletop.

Wall mount installation

IMPORTANT: Before drilling any wall, make sure there is no electrical wir-

ing or pipe work behind or in the area directly adjacent to the selected

mounting position.

1. Using the mounting plate as a guide, mark the locations of the two mounting

holes.

2. Drill holes in the positions marked using a drill bit.

3. Push the included anchor plugs ﬁrmly into the holes.

4. Screw the included screws into the anchor plugs leaving them 4 mm 3/16

inches) proud of the surface.

5. Insert the 3 AA 1.5V batteries ﬁrmly into the battery compartment on the rear

of the alarm.

6. Aligning the alarm unit with the mounting screws, carefully push the front of

the unit onto the back plate. If the unit does not locate ﬁrmly, remove the front

unit, screw in the retaining screws half a turn and try again. For proper installa-

tion, the unit should sit ﬁrmly against the back plate.

Tabletop Installation

If installing the CO monitor on a tabletop, ensure that the unit does not lie ﬂat

and prevent clear and easy referral to the LEDs and LCD screen.

Operation

Installing the Batteries

Open the battery compartment on the rear of the detector and insert the three

AA 1.5V batteries (included).

Normal Operation

When no carbon monoxide is detected and to indicate normal operational status,

the green LED ﬂashes once every 50 seconds, the LCD screen displays ‘0 ppm’ and

the ‘speaker’ symbol,

Testing the Alarm

Press the TEST button. The unit will then trigger an analog output equal to a high

CO concentration. The alarm will sound and the LED will begin ﬂashing red. The
